David Bowie - My Opinions

This is one of David Bowie's most listenable albums from beginning to end. Two other greats are the Bowie's standard, Suffragette City, and the memorable Rock n Roll Suicide. David Bowie is one of the all time greatest artists who manages to reinvent himself on every album. When considering David Bowie's work I first like to think about his musical breakthrough Man of Words/Man of Music from 1969. It almost defies classification when compared with the styles being explored by other big musical acts at the time. Some of David Bowie's albums include David Bowie, Man of Words/Man of Music, Space Oddity, The Man Who Sold the World, Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane, Pin-Ups, Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, Station to Station, Low, Heroes, Lodger, Scary Monsters, Let's Dance, Tonight, Never Let Me Down, Black Tie, White Noise, The Buddha of Suburbia, Outside, Earthling, Hours, Heathen and Reality. A good example of how Bowie has managed to change his musical style and reinvent himself with every release is 1983's Let's Dance. It features the hits Modern Love, China Girl, and the title track Let's Dance. This album overall is more mainstream and pop oriented than most of Bowie's work. It just goes to prove you never get the same David Bowie twice.

Black Sabbath - My Opinions

My Opinion If you like Sabbath. I count black Sabbath among the most influential musical acts in the rock genre and particularly hard rock.At the time when Sabbath was developing their act leading up to 1970 album Black Sabbath, there was nothing in that time frame that could be characterized as really heavy music. When is comes to the members of the band, I don't think anyone would say Ozzy was the best singer when Sabbath was first on the scene, but Tony Iommi's down-tuned Gibson SG riffs were innovative in their heaviness. When you compare Ironman, one of sabbath's premiere tunes, with any other song from that year there is no denying it was the heavier than anything. If you like Sabbath and are trying to find similar bands, you can see Sabbath's inspiration in any heavy band in the last 30 years. There's no denying if you are really into Black Sabbath then you will like Motorhead. Cream of the Crop Some of my personal favorite Black Sabbath songs are War Pigs and a lesser known song of Sabbath which I think everyone should check out is Supernaut off Black Sabbath Vol. 4. Other classics are Iron Man and Paranoid. The members of Black Sabbath include Tony Iommi (guitar), John "Ozzy" Osbourne (vocals), Terry "Geezer" Butler (bass) and Bill Ward (drums). They were originally known as Earth, but changed their name to Black Sabbath in 1969. Their albums include Black Sabbath, Paranoid, Master of Reality, Black Sabbath Vol. 4 Victor, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Sabotage Castle, Technical Ecstasy, and Never Say Die!.

Look At - The Who

As far as their studio releases go 1978's Who are You remains one of their finest achievements. Two of my personal favorites are the title track Who are You and melodic and beautiful Music Must Change. This album remains a shining gem in already stellar career. Even after Keith Moon had passed on, the band managed to reinvent itself. They were making the trends instead of following them. Even towards the end of their studio career they managed to put out some great albums. One is Face Dances from 1981 feature the hits You Better You Bet and Another Tricky Day. Another one is It's Hard from 1982 featuring the classic song Eminence Front. There are two great albums worth checking out.

The Who is an English rock band that started in the 1960's and minus a few hiatuses have managed to be together since. The Who tend to get overshadowed by a lot of the other big acts that were out at the time. This is a real shame because they definitely deserve their place in the annals of rock n rock history. Along with Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones, the Who were deeply influenced by America's Southern Blues of the previous generation. The Who in comparison to the other acts were more aggressive. Their songs were short and fast and tended to be about off color subjects of a more real nature than even what the Rolling Stones were doing. Their catalogue is littered with great albums. One of my favorite live albums of all time is Live at Leeds from 1970. While the whole album lasts less than twenty minutes it is a great example of why the Who are still remembered as one of craziest live acts of their day. This was after the point that the band was smashing the whole set up as part of their stage show.
